FIRE SAFETY and SECURITY
Please review the location of exits, alarms and fire equipment on
your floor as soon after check-in as is practical. A copy of your
guest floor plan is on the back of your suite door.
In case of emergency, dial 9 + 911
In case of fire
- keep your suite key with you at all times
- use the stairs to exit the floor, not the elevators
- stay low in
smoky areas
- remain calm
If the fire is in your suite
- leave the suite and close
the door
- activate the nearest alarm box, if possible
- go to the nearest stairwell
and follow the Exit signs down to the ground floor
If the fire is
outside your suite
- you may want to stay in the safety
of your suite to wait for instructions from
hotel management
- dial 0 to let the hotel operator know your location
If you decide
to leave your suite
- take the key with you
- touch the door handle and frame to see if
they are hot. If they are not, open the door carefully, keeping low
as you do so.
- if possible, go to the nearest stairwell and go down
to exit the building or enter a safe floor. If you can't go
down, go up.
If the door is hot
- stay in your suite and keep the door shut
- turn off the air conditioner
- fill the bathtub with water so you
have a water supply
- place wet towels along the bottom of the door
and over any vents where there is smoke
- dial 0 to let the hotel operator
know your location
- stay low below any smoke in the suite
- stay calm
Security
In case of emergency, dial 9+911 In your suite
- while in your suite use the deadbolt lock
- check to see that connecting
doors (if any) are secure
- always ask who it is before opening your
door
- do not allow employees of the hotel or maintenance staff to enter
your suite before identifying themselves with a nametag or a picture
identification
- do not leave valuables in your suite
- protect your valuables in a
safety deposit box at the front desk, accessible to you 24 hours
a day. There is no charge for the use
of safety deposit boxes.
