FIRE SAFETY and SECURITY
Please review the location of exits, alarms and fire equipment on your floor as soon after check-in as is practical. A copy of your guest floor plan is on the back of your suite door.
In case of emergency, dial 9 + 911

In case of fire

  • keep your suite key with you at all times
  • use the stairs to exit the floor, not the elevators
  • stay low in smoky areas
  • remain calm

If the fire is in your suite

  • leave the suite and close the door
  • activate the nearest alarm box, if possible
  • go to the nearest stairwell and follow the Exit signs down to the ground floor

If the fire is outside your suite

  • you may want to stay in the safety of your suite to wait for instructions from hotel management
  • dial 0 to let the hotel operator know your location

If you decide to leave your suite

  • take the key with you
  • touch the door handle and frame to see if they are hot. If they are not, open the door carefully, keeping low as you do so.
  • if possible, go to the nearest stairwell and go down to exit the building or enter a safe floor. If you can't go down, go up.

If the door is hot

  • stay in your suite and keep the door shut
  • turn off the air conditioner
  • fill the bathtub with water so you have a water supply
  • place wet towels along the bottom of the door and over any vents where there is smoke
  • dial 0 to let the hotel operator know your location
  • stay low below any smoke in the suite
  • stay calm

In your suite

  • while in your suite use the deadbolt lock
  • check to see that connecting doors (if any) are secure
  • always ask who it is before opening your door
  • do not allow employees of the hotel or maintenance staff to enter your suite before identifying themselves with a nametag or a picture identification
  • do not leave valuables in your suite
  • protect your valuables in a safety deposit box at the front desk, accessible to you 24 hours a day. There is no charge for the use of safety deposit boxes.

A blinking red light on your phone tells you a message waits for you in your private voice mail box.

  • press 2 to delete the message (once a message is deleted, it cannot be retrieved)
  • press 3 to repeat the message

Direct Dialing to Your Suite
To bypass the live operator for incoming calls, you may tell callers about the auto-attendant line so you receive phone calls directly.

Dialing Instructions
Dialing instructions are located directly on the phone itself. Dial 9 before dialing the number for outside calls. Dial 7 before the suite number to phone another suite.

Local calls and local access calls (including Internet Service Provider access numbers) will be assessed a $.75 fee. No surcharge is added to a credit card call accessed through a toll-free number.

All long distance call charges are based on AT&Toperator assisted day rates. A 40% hotel surcharge will be applied to all outgoing long distance calls. No surcharge is added to calls placed using a toll-free service.

TRANSPORTATION

Vehicle Parking
Parking is available by valet at a nightly charge of $30. Please be aware that vans and larger vehicles will be parked in our outside parking lot and that there will be addtional charges for oversized vehicles.

The hotel is not liable for damaged or stolen vehicles, or items removed from vehicles. Please be sure that valuables are removed from your vehicle.

To obtain your vehicle, dial 0 or 7128 and your vehicle will be brought to the lobby entrance of the hotel. Please allow 10 minutes for retrieval time.

Metro
Washington, DC has an extensive subway (MetroRail) and bus system (MetroBus). Around town, the subway system is referred to as the Metro. The closest Metro station to the hotel is located at Foggy Bottom(Blue &Orange Lines), 2.5 blocks away.

Hours of operation are 5:30am to midnight on weekdays and 8am to 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. Sunday and holiday service hours are 8am to midnight. All Metro stations are wheelchair accessible.

The Metro runs on a farecard system. Passengers ages five and above must purchase farecards at vending machines inside the station. Machines accept coins and bills and some also accept credit/debit cards. Metro maps are available at the Front Desk. See the Front Desk staff for more information.

Taxis
Taxis are readily available in the downtown area and near hotels. Fares are calculated based on a zone system, not a metered system. Zone maps and fare schedules are posted in cabs. Ask your driver in advance if you have any questions regarding your possible charges.

Additional charges may apply for rush hour, inclement weather, additional passengers in your group, and for additional luggage after the first piece handled. Virginia and Maryland cabs may transport you in and out of the District of Columbia but may not serve between points in the District itself.
